I hit upon 'the concept' of eatitup when I was feeding my baby daughter soup one lunchtime.  Our family is dotted all over the UK and most of her Aunties, Uncles and cousins only visit a couple of times a year.  So I used to get the photo albums out to show her - often at lunchtimes whilst she was sitting at the table.  Then came the Eureka moment! Why not put family photos on everyday things so she could see her Aunties and Uncles every day - in fact, at every meal-time? 

As a new Mum then (my first daughter is now 4 and my second is 5 months) setting up a business was a real challenge -( I made so many mistakes and I'm still learning.) But three heads are better than one - Phil (technical boffin) and Steve (artistic type) agreed to rise to the challenge! Together we devised a range of products that you use every day, that feature family photos.  But just to make our products extra special, we added original artwork with universally popular themes for children - travel, space, counting, letters, christmas, birthdays, easter etc.  If you have any ideas for other themes, drop Steve an email - Steve@eatitup.co.uk

Thanks to Phil, the design of our products and web-site is also really important.  Having ourselves spent money on cheap tat that doesn't last, we're determined the quality of our products is crucial.  We've also thought about how children use things too - our placemats are GIANT because children tend to make a GIANT mess when they eat!  Our party bags and plates are designed to appeal to all ages - even babies because everyone loves seeking out their own picture on a party table.  Our products have been rigorously tested by our own families and when they've not been up to the mark, we've been told!  If you have any ideas for products or if you think we can improve our web-site please contact philip@eatitup.co.uk
